Osram exhibits automotive lighting technology at CES 2020

At CES 2020, Rinspeed's MetroSnap concept car will debut at the Osram booth. Equipped with Osram's visible and invisible products, MetroSnap will fully demonstrate its outstanding features through advanced interactive presentations. MetroSnap opens up the way of driving in the future, combining autonomous driving, agility, connectivity, and excellent safety and comfort. The modular design of this electric vehicle will be demonstrated on site, which can be flexibly configured according to user needs, such as separating the chassis and changing the body. In the fourth year of cooperation with Linsbee Automotive, OSRAM takes concept car design to a whole new level with its unique lighting solutions for tomorrow's cars.
Persisting in combining groundbreaking lighting concepts with state-of-the-art technology, OSRAM is committed to providing advanced products and solutions in four main areas to provide high-quality user experience:
· Travel: LiDAR technology provided by OSRAM can draw a 3D map of the vehicle's surroundings through infrared pulse lasers, enabling the MetroSnap concept car to achieve safer autonomous driving. In addition, OSRAM will show the new red replaceable LED light source (XLS) for various applications such as signal lights, tail lights and rear fog lights. As a standardized light source, XLS can be easily replaced. At the same time, Rear Combination Light (RCL) technology turns taillights into a new way to communicate with other drivers and pedestrians on the road, demonstrating the future of exterior lighting. Sylvania Automotive's LEDriving replacement headlight combination also showcases many innovative applications, including high-intensity headlights, signal lights and interior lights, which combine the advantages of elegant appearance, white cold light and excellent light quality.
· Safety: OSRAM Optoelectronics solutions mean safety, reliability and peace of mind. Osram's Vertical Cavity Surface Laser Transmitter (VCSEL) technology enables Linsby's MetroSnap to monitor the cabin, while 3D sensing technology can be used for facial recognition of vehicles and mobile devices.
Connected: Osram has made light a communication method in the digital age. Osram's smart LED technology will demonstrate dynamic information transmission in autonomous driving scenarios. For example, MetroSnap's headlights are equipped with Osram's Eviyos smart LEDs. These multi-functional, intelligent and controllable LEDs not only illuminate the road, project warnings and various signs to other drivers, but also guide pedestrians through the road safely.
